Some small gauge wire will prevent their little paws from entering the seed area. They still might go get some, so plant extra. If you can germinate INDOORS in some good 💡 so much better!!

Buy some Wire Grid from your DIY and make a cage over your seeds that will keep the squirrels out. If you screw it together with wood for corners, you should be able to deconstruct it if you can't house it when done. Hope that helps!
If on a pole, grease the pole with heavy grease. It is fun to watch a squ irrel try to climb the pole. It wears off so keep an eye on it.
