How to clean an untreated, unstained wood deck?
We have an untreated, unstained wood deck that has some grease stains near the BBQ area. Would like to know how to revive the deck. It is 3 years old. Thanking you in advance for your response. - Linda Cowburn

Use a,degreaser cleaner with a scrub brush on that area . Power wash entire deck. If not smooth sand. Use a penetrating deck stain. Will make it like new again. Use a cheap outdoor rug under your grill area, just toss it at the end of the season if too grimy.
Hi Linda. Use a pressure washer to clean your deck. It should come back looking new again. If you don't own a pressure washer, you can rent one from your local home improvement store. For the grease stains, I recommend Krud Kutter. It's a degreaser that works very well. You can purchase it at Wal Mart, Home Depot, or on Amazon for approx. $7. p.s. if any of your deck boards have splinters, cracks, or any other damage, just unscrew it, take it off and flip it over, and screw it back down. Good luck Linda.
I would use Dollar Tree Awesome Degreaser on the spots and then power wash it. Then I would use an oil-based stain on it.... like Olympia.
.thank you all for your great replies. I'll give it a go very soon.
