I live in a house that was built in the 1950's that has hard wood floors. I need to know how to take off the old dirt to get them nice and clean. Thank you

Hi Nadine I use a mix of 50/50 white vinegar and water on both my new pine floors and my 100 year old hardwoods. It works wonders but a good mop is very important. I also add some essential oils too but make sure the ones you use are pet safe if you have critters :)
Murphys oil soap worked great on my 1950's wood floors. Smells nice and clean too. Just don't use to much.
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tsp blue Dawn
2 gallons hot tap water
Wring mop well. I have used this on my floors since 2000 and on my parents' 1950s wood floors.
