I use a bunch of used fabric softener sheets saturated with vinegar. I have also use spray canola cooking oil and it did work. Also left a coating to slow down build up.
There is a magnetic wrap that fastens to your incoming pipes of water. It changes the electrons in water so they don’t clump together. You will have to clean up your fixtures first to remove the buildup...but all of a sudden you will realize that you aren’t scrubbing as much.

Sandy: I use Lime Away. (wear gloves!) ...soak rags... then apply to doors. It may take a while to work and subsequent applications may be necessary --- depending on build-up.
Then! I keep a squeegee in my shower and do the doors after EVERY shower. NO excuses! (Will save so much time/work later!)
Limeway works better than CLR and use a magic eraser after it sits on there for a bit. If it is really bad it may take several times. My advice clean it every week and you won't get a build up. Also use ordinary spray starch and wipe with dry cloth and it will repel it and also works in the shower as well.
