I love my Bleeker Beige paint colored cupboards (Benjamin Moore). It works well with a white backsplash and I've got black countertops. It's still light and bright, but more unique than all the white kitchens out there. To answer your question, you need to think about how a room makes you feel. Step back to an area where you enter the kitchen from another room. Take a deep breath and look at the kitchen as a whole. Do the cabinets dominate the room? Does the granite? Does something else? How does that make you feel? Now, think about your personality. Do you like things to get along - or maybe make a statement? Imagine dark cabinets. What kind of reaction do you get? Imagine other colors like cream, the blue in the granite or even a natural wood look. How do those images make you feel. What about your appliances, furnishings and floor? If you want a connected and happy atmosphere, it's best to tie all those elements together. Get some small containers of paint colors and test how they look and feel. Go with your gut, not your head. You will love the results.
How about a dark gray on the bottom cabinets (It doesn't show drips and dirt like lighter paint colors.) and lighter gray on top.
I love your backsplash !!! I would pick another color from your granite countertop , gray or beige ... also what color floor do you have ? you need to consider that , as well.
