How to change color of wood furniture without stripping?
Is there any way to change the color of wood furniture that is already finished, without having to sand? I have a burl oak cabinet that I would love to darken without painting over the beautiful wood.

There are refinish kits available from Rustoleum which do a great job and has everyhting you need in the box. Easy to use and you do not have to sand as it has a primer material in the box.
You can try a gel stain. I have never used myself, so read the instructions carefully.
Yes! You can use Gel Stain. There is no sanding or stripping required with Gel Stain. General Finishes carries my favorite Gel Stain. You can check out my post here on how to use gel stain. :)
You'll have to remove the clear coat to get to the wood and re-stain.
The shinier the finish the more prep needed; if it's sealed, varnished, laquered, polyurethaned, clear coated it needs sanded to get darker stain to absorb into wood grain. Is it veneer?
I'm thinking it's veneer, simply because the patterns repeat. Yikes. I would like to go darker because it's that darned golden oak! I have a complete dining room set too!
