How would I make this outside project come true?

I have a question for you: these outside kitchens are typical for Australia and warmer climates, would appliances even last in your cold wet weather? Maybe I’m just ignorant. I found my chrome light fittings rusted on my veranda - and I am in South Africa. But you could put it all on wheels and haul it out in summer. Note that wheels make things higher so you need to consider counter height.

Or why not start with a fire/barbeque pit or pizza oven and built in seating. You could also shelter the stuff from the weather by doing some all weather curtains or barn/ folding door. Perhaps raise the floor with a concrete slab.

Google DIY outdoor kitchens for some inspiration. But you could utilize a gas grill into your plans if you’re not in a warmer climate.

Unfortunately, an outdoor kitchen has to be protected from the elements. Unless you can somehow incorporate a modular (removable or sliding) wall that can close up the room for the winter and open it in warmer months, you're going to have to wait until someone comes up with weatherproof appliances. Also, remember that grills can not be used under covers. The heat buildup becomes dangerous. But don't let these things stop you from creating a living space outside this home! A grill or firepit just outside the awning area will be perfect and you can find dollies to roll around a cooler unit or even a kitchen "island" type work surface. Do a LOT of searching before you invest your time and money to find what's right for you!

These outdoor kitchen setups are beautiful and certainly look convenient for BBQ's , my opinion only, a lot of maintenance, cleaning it , keeping it clean along with your own indoor kitchen. I too have been tempted in the past, but always decided against it. You could use the money to make your existing patio exquisite.

First, check with the building department of the city/town where you live. Talk to an inspector and show him the picture of what your dream is. Ask what you'll be allowed to do without requiring a permit such as not attached to the house at all, standard portable grill integrated to a counter, etc. It looks like you will have to run electricity outside and for that you'll need a pro.

Can you afford to replace the awning? If not, refresh the entire thing with a "direct to metal (dtm) paint" such as Rustoleum. Roll it on, don't spray! Rust treat the posts and build them out with wood framing. Paint the masonry to match the new siding or an accent color. Think about what you may wish to do as far as decor of the awning underside. (btw- light blue attracts the least bugs for some reason).

The grill, counter, bar section I would make L-shaped. Though dependent on where your door is, I'd build it where the house is close to the neighbor and the garage if possible so you end up with the most area open from the porch to the yard. Everything you put in (wood, screws, etc.) will have to be galvanized or stainless, pressure treated wood because of the elements.

Restrain yourself on "soft goods" unless you have room to store them through the winters! Budget for outdoor furniture covers, etc. for pillows, grill cover.

Patio - yes do something with the concrete but DO research the longevity of various things such as paint, stencils, whatever before you make a decision. You may even want to cover it with artificial turf - there are some that look real and last many years.

With a large outdoor kitchen you also have to decide, plan, budget for seating for at least 8 adults. Otherwise you don't really need such a fancy space lol!
