How do I prepare & paint a painted (and maybe rusting?) metal door?
10 years ago I installed & painted a new metal door with Rustoleum. It's in a screened breezeway & over the years has had some weathering. Now the surface is rough and dirty looking. I think maybe I need to address the surface first? then paint or prime & paint? Recommendations for process and paints would be appreciated!

I have a front door thats composite and the paint is flaking off . How can I make it new again?
Clean all the dirt and accumulated "gunk" first. Assess if there is any rust. If so, remove with a stiff wire brush. Proceed to either sand with fine grit paper (if major issues) or fine steel wool (if minor job). Clean with denatured alcohol. Prime if needed, some metal doors come primed. Paint with a door paint. RustOleum is good for metal but there are other brands that I have used in the past that have held up well.
