I made barn doors for a pantry and wrote a blog about how I built them. You can adjust the sizes to fit your application.

Interior barn doors? Yes? The most expensive part is the hardware.
The doors can be cedar fence pieces, that are about 6” wide and 6’ long, with pine stiles and rails to make up the height difference (8” for a 6’-8” door). You’ll need to incorporate a diagonal piece of pine to keep it from racking and to complete the style motif.
I would stain it a Grey tone to make it look weathered.
Buy the hardware and then build doors to fit opening. Many options available.
I like the idea of using fence pieces. You can also buy unpainted barn doors from Walmart and Amazon for about $200, including buying the hardware.
