How to remove carpet from mobile home?
We just acquired a 1995 double wide mobile home with a large property we bought, and started renovating, removing the carpet in preparation to install new flooring. However, we discovered that the carpet was put in FIRST and the builder then installed the walls on top of it, not room-by-room with tacking strips. Apparently this is done a lot. HOW do you remove the carpet without damaging the walls, or leaving tufts of carpet sticking out? We plan to install luxury vinyl planking, click-and-lock style, but after one bedroom, we are kind of stumped now.

Razor utility knife and a bunch of sharp blades. Remove baseboards, angle the knife away form the walls to undercut the carpet. New flooring and baseboards replaced should cover the carpet and gaps.
Agree with William as to the removal technique and tools. Taking off all the baseboards first will facilitate the process, and it will be easier to lay down the new flooring without them in the way. Installing the new baseboards on top of the new flooring will help cover any gaps that may result from walls not being perfectly straight.
Use a quality brand heavy-duty utility knife. (The picture below shows various brands.) Don't try to use a lightweight paper cutting type of snap blade knife. These are too flimsy for the task, and can easily break, risking slicing your fingers.
