Hi Jeannine, If your question is the desert southwest then there are so many books on this subject! I'm in AZ. and I found the website Thriftbooks.com to be very helpful. I have a great personal library now and bout about 90% of my books there. Look up Desert Landscaping and you will be amased how many books there are. Find your growing zone and if you buy plants from places like Lowes or Home Depot remember, just because they carry it it doesn't mean it will grow in your area. Hi Jeanine, You can contact your County Extension Agent's office and get a lot of great information about how to landscape in the desert. There are many varieties of plants that will do well in the hot, dry climate, but best to get good advice so you don't waste time and money on what will die or not do well. Local nurseries are a good source of information too. You can also search your area for a Master Gardener who will be well educated about all things desert! Have fun and create the look that pleases you.
