You could lay sheet vinyl. Depending on the size many flooring stores sell left over pieces from previous jobs for cheap.
We are thinking of the self adhesive planks or tiles. So many options.

If it's TRUE plywood why would you cover it at all? Just sand it really good and then apply polyurethane. Might take several coats AND please remember to ventilate the room. To get the pretty glass effect, lightly sand with fine grit between each coat. Sand it and wipe it off then repeat. Plywood floors are Beautiful, then if you spill anything besides acid, you just wipe clean. You dont have to use anything special on them when cleaning either. This process takes a few days, if you have kids you might want to go with linoleum or peel and stick tiles.
Good Luck in whatever you do and I hope everything works out well!
