If you're exceedingly careful, you could attempt a hammer and very small chisel to remove broken tiles. Scrape off underlying mortar and apply new tiles, to size.

Re-do wood or upholstery?
Start in the center of the broken tile to chisel out. Once the tile is removed and the wall is clean from old mastik, use the pre-mixed mastik to place new tile in it's spot. After that dries, grout and seal. You may want to re-seal old grout as well.
All of the prior recommendations are correct. My only other suggestion would be that in order to have a cohesive pattern, you may want to remove other tiles as well and replace them with the new tiles.
