Gina...Clean and sand well. Mark each door so you can return them to the proper place. Remove all hardware. Prime, or purchase paint with prime in it, and purchase paint color. May take a couple of coats of primer and paint each but will probably be less it the primer is included in the paint. Purchase new hardware or clean old and replace. I did mine many years ago...had a lot and took a while but after I finally finished I was very pleased.
Hello Gina! here are some good directions and things to consider when painting cabinets. Prepping your cabinets before you paint is critical for a successful job. It's not difficult just time consuming.

You can paint kitchen cabinets with chalk paint that doesn't normally involve sanding but I am not a fan of using chalk paint on kitchen cabinets. I would also not chose a paint that already had a primer in it. Use a separate primer for your first coat. If you want you can have it tinted to your paint color. The most durable paint for kitchen cabinets is an acrylic paint in an enamel finish. Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Behr are all good quality paints.

Painting Kitchen Cabinets!
When painting anything white, you want to use a good primer. It will get you to white faster. Since primer is cheaper than paint, I normally do 2 coats of primer and then the white paint. Good luck! It's easier than you think, just time consuming. But so worth it!
