How can I make a small garden?
I've seen doing one with cardboard. But I need something that I could put on a small shelve on my porch. I already put bell peppers and tomatoes in flower pots. But I want to do a herb, broccoli and others. But I don't think they would grow in flower pots.

DIY HERB GARDEN
I use ten to twelve inch pots for my herbs since some of them do like to spread aggressively in the garden. I get huge plants and they do not even get all day sun, so you should have no problem. I also plant peppers and tomatoes in pots, as well as leaf lettuce. One tomato per 24 inch pot. Same size pots, I put in six lettuce plants, or three pepper plants and have good luck with them also. I put my big pots on castor boards that hubby makes out of plywood, they kind you can buy with the plastic castor's don't hold much weight despite what they say they do.
