you can buy nets that keep birds off! I have used them for blueberries.
I agree with Morgan. I net seems to be the best solution.
Amazon has a great selection of nets, many sizes and shapes, please, do yourself a favor and get something that does not tangle.
birds do not like owls. a fake owl or two placed nearby may work. when i worked at home depot owls were flying off the shelves from the garden dept just for the purpose.
