Hi Dee Ann - There are several ways to get rid of mold, but most importantly, you need to address the root cause to keep it from returning. This article focuses on the bathroom, but is an overall great article that covers methods of how to remove mold, if bleach is safe to use, and how to prevent it from coming back. Hope this helps! Holly gave you some good pointers on mold. Bottom line is the room needs more air circulation, that al,ways helps.
We live in a part of the country where there are hot humid summers and this brings on the mold, especially in areas where there is low air circulation-bathroom and closets. To control it we use just plain vinegar to spray areas where it has grown.
In the plastic tub and surround where there is grout, we use a mixture in a 32 oz bottle of 8 oz blue dawn dishsoap and fill the rest with vinegar, give it a mix and squirt on the tub/surround area. Use a soft bristled brush or broom dedicated to that task and clean it. Leave it on longer if needed. Then rinse.
One thing we did do on the walls was (after the mold was killed), we painted over it with Kilz, this really helps.
Plain old white vinegar. Vinegar kills mold spores.

Crack a window, install an exhaust fan, even a portable fan will work in a pinch. Repainting with a mold resistant paint will help too.
