How can I keep electrical cords from a crawling infant?
I have my first grandchild (yay me!!). I am Nana, the baby sitter everyday. My house has far too few electrical outlets and so I frequently have lamp cords etc stretched to the max to reach an end table. My grandson, who just started crawling, finds those cords irresistible! He can crawl to them faster than I can walk to stop him sometimes :)
How can I address this problem?

Hi Cindy, you can always place the cords under a rug or get some of the plastic cord covers at Lowes and run them along the wall. The cord covers should keep them protected. As a mom of 3, I totally understand this dilemma!
Do not place any electrical cords under a rug! Safety and fire hazard. You may have to do some furniture rearranging so your cords aren't stretched to the max. Things have to change a bit when there's a baby in the house! Perhaps you can find some lamps that mount to the wall, can be closer to the outlet, and cover the cords with cord covers. If you can run cords behind furniture and coffee tables so baby can't see them that will also help.
Cindy, get your home electrical system fixed. Can't you imagine how much cheaper it will be to fix the electrical system than it will be to bring a little boy back to life? I can just see him drooling while cutting his teeth sucking on the female end of an extension cord. I can't bare to think of what a catastrophe it could be.
