Due to obstructions in the wall they said they couldn’t. They installed the thermostat on top of this metal box where wiring goes with gray flex conduit coming out of that. The conduit is crooked, going to left halfway up to ceiling and bowing out as it goes into the ceiling.
Could you post a photo? They should have used the cord channel covers that Flipturn suggests. Did they install the box? It could be corrected to make it look neater.

Are the electrical wires already hidden by a conduit cover, or are they exposed? Cord channel covers can be purchased.
