How do I keep a clothesline taut?
Which is better cotton clothesline or wire? I have always used cotton line, but it stretches and I'm always having to re-tie it. Any suggestions?

I like the retractable clothes lines that have coated wire. I string it each time I need it and retract out of the way when not in use
I had both types of clothes lines. Cotton stretches as you know. Wire can rust. I finally got a clothing tree in the yard. It was company and was fine.
I wouldn't use wire--- if you use clothespins they may not hold due to the texture of the wire and it will leave creases if you lay the clothes directly on it. Is there some way you can tie knots or use clamps on the ends of the cotton clothesline to keep it taught? I highly recommend keeping the cotton line. Even if you have to keep tightening it
