Can we put shelves between the back beams for storage?
My husband and I will be remodeling the kitchen in our 2/2 condo to give it a more open feel. As in all condos storage is an issue. We plan to remove the side walls in our pantry and install a cabinet. Question is can we put shelves between the back beams for storage. If so what is the best way to do this.

Yes, you can. I think this project is in the neighborhood of what you are wanting to do:

I did something similar but temporary, in my bathroom. I put up self-adhesive paper on the back side of the other wall drywall.

back beams? where? inside the pantry Ditto to Tinyshoes question.....
Beams are horizontal.
If you’re referring to the vertical framing members, then those could be called columns, but I think you really mean The Studs in the back wall?
Yes, you can put shelves in between the studs, but you’ll need to think about using blocking or metal shelf brackets.
Toenailing them in and then loading them with canned goods will fail.
If this is the demising wall between you & your neighbors, then you can’t remove the drywall on your side of that wall. That’s because it’s a “fire-rated assembly” wall.
Yes a picture would help a lot.
