Call the manufacturer and let them know. May have been a problem and recall.
Is it old, usually they are stainless now. You need to call manufacturer.

Your dryer must have been manufactured quite a few years ago, as Kelli said, they are mostly stainless these days. Give the manufacturer a call and talk to them on their support line, have your make and model numbers ready.
I would call the manufacturer to ask about the situation first. Also inquire about a recall.

Sand the peeling spots then paint with a porcelain paint. You can buy small bottles of it at places like Home Depot.
