UPDATED QUESTIONS How to show off shells?
I found that you can mix Elmers School Glue with sand to set it up. But the instructions call to bake it to dry and set. My little jar is plastic so baking is out. If I leave it to air dry.... how long will it take AND will it dry clear or stay milky white?
A rare occasion for me.... I went to the beach and this is all the shells I could find. Was disappointed, but I gathered them up anyway. I was thinking about putting them in this jar with some sand. But the more I look at the shells, the more pathetic they look. Any ideas?

You could coat them with clear nail polish which would bring out any remaining colors. Don't forget the inside. Sometimes the inside of the shells is prettier than the outside. You could also stain them with inks (if you don't think they are colorful enough) to compliment your decor before sealing them with a clear coat.
