You can cut two sides of a square room using straight cuts. The other two sides should first be cut to 45 degree angle then coped. I prefer wood and find it easier to cut. Kreg sells a jig for cutting crown molding. Use scrap wood to practice the cuts and watch a video. It can be confusing when you have to turn it upside down depending if it is an outside or inside corner.
Thanks. Once we finish putting up the bead board and replacing the tile floor to a nail down floor, crown molding is our next project to tackle.
