How can I redo my deck floor?
Need any out of the box ideas for our wood deck floor. Have tried painting - it peels, have stained but it chips & splinters and carpeted - it frays and fades. Deck is in sun 100% of time and do not have means to replace at this time. Thanks!

power wash, let thoroughly dry then stain with quality product
Stain should not chip or peel. Stain seeps into the grain of the wood. I agree with Marlene, scrub, or pressure wash then stain. The sun will take it's toll on any wood over time.
If the structure is sound - remove the boards, flip them over, power wash, seal.
A penetrating transparent or semitransparent oil stain is best for this application. For good results, you'll need to remove ALL previous finishes or adhesives that sit on top of the wood. You may be able to do this with a pressure washer, used carefully so you dont cut into the wood. However, sanding may be required. I've rented a square pad oscellating sander in the past. It's very heavy, and a little slow, but can produce an excellent result.
