Here is how I treated the kitchen in our coastal Maine cottage... You could also paint the cabinets white if they are darker wood.
Paint them white with some light blue on corners edges around handles do it very light
Kathy, there are various themes you might choose for a coastal feel. You may want to just incorporate colors of the sea, include items for decor that you found at the beach, or stencil some designs of your own. Or you may want to combine all those ideas.
