My best friend buys the ranch size baking soda boxes and once a month or so puts baking soda over her carpet, leaves it a couple hours, and vacuums it off. It will obsorb any bad odors.
Here's the exact recipe I use, with items you can get anywhere. I even got my container from Dollar Tree. https://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/how-to-make-a-natural-deodorizing-carpet-powder/
Carpet Fresh
2 c baking soda
6 bay leaves
1 T whole cloves
1/2 c cornmeal
1/2 c cornstarch
Mix in blender
Baking soda will help remove carpet odors. Just sprinkle it on the carpet, let it sit for 15 mins then vacuum it up. TaDah!
