Do chalk painted items need to be sealed?
I'm talking about Chalk Paint not chalkboard paint. I distressed some old terracotta pots with a mixture of chalk paint colors that I want to put outside but I'm not sure if I need to seal them to keep the weather from making the paint run.

Absolutely or it will wash off.
yes, chalk painted items do need to be sealed. They make non-yellowing polyurethane now, so be sure to ask for that to seal it.
Here is a post on painting terracotta pots with chalk paint. She used Krylon non-yellowing spray sealer to seal them. :) link below. Hope it helps you!

Yes, use clear wax to seal them and then they truly takes 21 days to dry. During that time handle them with care otherwise you would see scratches all over them soon. Hope it helps. Make sure you seal them after 24 hours.
Take care,
