How to remove a heavy bathtub?
I want to convert a bathtub area into a walk-in shower, but the tub is not the lightweight plastic (?) kind. And, it is in a very small space, in an awkward location, and a small doorway, about 30 inches. Can it be done? We have another full bath and another with shower only.

Is your bathtub fibreglass, or metal?
The fastest and easiest way to remove a tub is get a reciprocating saw and sledgehammer. Cut the tub up into pieces small enough that can be carried out through the doorway openings. Some folks prefer to use a grinder saw, some a hammer; options differ. Both methods will get rid of the white elephant in less than an hour.

You might have to cut it in pieces. If it's made from cast iron you will need a cut off saw. It sounds like the opening is too small to remove whole.
You are correct. We did a remodel 30 years ago, and I think it was built around the Koehler Cast Iron "beige" tub!
