How do I get rid of animals in my garden?
I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some natural deterrents on keeping (mainly) cats & dogs from using my gardens as bathroom areas? I have no pets ... Luv them 2 death ... But not in my flowers & gardens. No one claims responsibility. I'm told moth balls/flakes would be unhealthy. Please help

I use shredded Irish Spring soap. We live very near woods and the DuPage River, so we see a lot of wildlife. I tried pepper flakes, human hair, fake snakes, and pinwheels. Nothing worked. My veggie garden was like a buffet for wildlife. And then I tried the shredded soap. To my surprise it worked! So now I buy a 12-pack of the soap in the Spring before I put my plants in. I shred all 12 bars and store it in a 5-gallon bucket with lid, in my shed. After I put my plants in I immediately scatter the shredded soap. So that is my recommendation for you. Good luck.
I've heard you can use mixed wet coffee grounds and orange peels spread around the soil.
Hi Suze. It's Cindy again. The rain does melt a very small amount of the soap. I just put a couple extra handfuls of the soap on after rain. The shredded soap has no effect to the plants.
