TVs need to mounted on a wall bracket that fits the TV mounting holes. Brittany's video is good. If you want to cover the chimney with wood, ensure your structure has 2x4 studs to transfer weight. Sheetrock can form a new wall over the chimney. Fasten TV mount to studs,

As you are building your new framed out chimney, add your cable wire outlet and an electrical outlet to hide all your wires.

Hi Judy: When you are drilling into a brick wall, drill into the brick, not the mortar. The mortar will not hold much weight for long. You need to drill, with a drill just for that purpose, right into the brick, in the centre would be best. And, when you are drilling, go slow. There are also pound in brick anchors you can use in the hole, which would be a benefit, after the hole is drilled. Good lukc
