Can I use a pressure washer to remove old finish/remover?

Is it okay to use a pressure washer, instead of a scraper, to remove the finish remover/old finish?

I would be careful with that. The stripper may get sprayed on you and surrounding areas. I would rinse thoroughly with a gentle stream of water before using the power washer.

Yes, I don't want to raise the grain too much or damage any wood...

They are outdoor wooden rocking chairs that are painted white and also have a wax on them. We were hoping to either stain them a brownish... don't know that we can get them stripped enough to do that, tho. May do the farmhouse aged look...??? The chairs are a tad decorative (not the straight dowels) which is why I don't relish the thought of scraping.. maybe I should take a photo of them.
