If they are crawling bugs, not flying bugs, then you can sprinkle food grade diatomaceous earth all around the base of the plants.
When it rains, or when you water the plants, you will need to replace it because it is effective as a powder.
It is not a pesticide, but rather a fatal abrasive. The diatoms in the diatomaceous earth or diamond-hard fossils in a flour like form.
The insects crawl through it, the dust grinds at their joints where they rub into their exoskeleton, and grind right through it and kill them through abrasion.
One would buy it at a ranch and farm store, to put in feed for animals, to keep the feed from from caking. Wear gloves and avoid getting the dust in your nose.
