Sevin dust or diatomaceous earth sprinkled. It will have to come in contact with them.
Sevin is highly toxic, it will kill bees and you'll need to wear protective clothing if you use it.
You could try dissolving some borax in water, with a little sugar, soak some cotton balls in the mixture then place them in a shallow dish in areas the ants are or directly in their path
Take away their tools (just kidding. Here is an article with 10 different methods and they are all non toxic.
Hi Melodie. Make a solution of:
2 cups vinegar
2 cups water
3 Tablespoons Blue Dawn dish soap
3 Tablespoons table salt
Pour into a spray bottle and spray on ants. Repeat in 3 days. Good luck.
