How to create an inset cabinet here?
Built a small room to contain my composting toilet. Want to use the space between these two studs as an "open/inset" cabinet. Looking for ideas on handling drywall to bare wood transition.

Should have drywalled the hole wall. Then you cut the opening in the drywall. Build the cabinet to insert in the opening. Outside frame of cabinet will cover drywall edges.

Need Master Bathroom Storage?
Hi,
Trim as if for Door! (Flat timber in the recess and Architrave for front it up. You could panel out the wall with timber or use stick on tiles or bathroom wallpaper or Fablon/Contact. Then add shelves across using timber supports for shelves. Enjoy the journey!
Trim moldings are specifically designed for this transition
Hi ! I am in the process of doing this as well ! We are on our last room of our home renovation...our master bathroom. We pulled out a tiny medicine cabinet that was set into the wall. I told my husband I wanted to put an inset shelf in its place. I am styling our bathroom in a vintage cottage look. I cut beadboard to fit inside. The trim that will be going up will cover the drywall edges. I plan to caulk all the edges of the beadboard and nail in quarter round trim on either side to support a shelf .good luck !
