Susie, just use a damp cloth to clean this and it will be good as new! I have a bendable tool for cleaning fans.

I use my shop vac to suck all the dust off it doesn't seem to make so much of a mess

  • Most ceiling fans have detachable blades, so if it's easier you could remove them and bring them outside to wipe them down. Otherwise, cover the area below with an old sheet or tarp and use a damp paper towel to wipe the blades down.

  • I use my vacuum hose. If it makes a mess, it gets vacuumed up as well.

Clean the fan blades with an old sock, put your hand in sock and starting at the back of blade wipe forward. Always best to have an old sheet down under your fan. Hope this helps. Oh, I save all old socks.

Old pillowcase. I spray the inside of the case lightly w pledge or something like it. Slide pillowcase over blade (so blade is inside case) slide case with a hand on each side of blade. Clean blades and bottom catches dirt from blade. Especially helpful if fan is over your bed!
