This really depends on the fabric and the type of fat in your stain. Vegetable fats are extremely difficult to remove. Here are some things to try:
1) rub cornstarch on the stain and let sit. Brush off.
2) Dawn dish soap, full strength, rub into stain with a soft brush or terrycloth towel. Rinse with HOT water while stretching the fabric taut.
3) stretch fabric over a bowl and secure with rubber band. Pour boiling water through fabric
4) wash clothes in washing machine using hot water, dawn and baking soda.

put dawn dish soap on oil stain rub gently with fingers let it sit for at least 10-15 minutes or overnight depending how long it has been on the fabric, then run cold water over area to rinse all soap out then launder as usual.
