How can I clean and refresh old antique upholstery?
I've recently purchased a beautiful antique chair. The upholstery appears to be in good shape but needs to be cleaned. Its a beige color background with a small floral print. I'm afraid to use a commercial cleaner as the chemicals may be a bit harsh. Any recommendations? Thank you for any suggestions/help

Hi Wendy, I would sprinkle baking soda onto the chair and rub in slightly and let it sit for a while and then vacuum the chair really well and see if that helps freshen it.
the type of fabric is the most important thing. A white cloth (old toweling for instance) wrung out in hot water should refresh it and not hurt fabric, but it would help to know what kind of fabric.
