Howto choose color theme for bedroom that has light grey walls?
I’m in need of color theme ideas for my bedroom. The walls are a light grey. I have an old dresser that I can paint as well as a headboard. I want color but not to bright or crazy. I love purple, turquoise, pink, blue, yellow, lime green. I’m wanting to use one maybe two colors that will make my room calming and comfortable and yet not dreary.

You need to start with something existing that has colors you like. Like a bedspread or rug with a pattern using your colors.

I have a beautiful comforter set and coordinating bedspread with all of the accessories (throw pillows, tablecloth, etc.) stored away (while I have my bedroom renovated). which already has a gorgeous pattern of silvery grey with a beautiful shade of soft salmon-peach. I bought it years ago and it's as 'modern' today as it was then. I could quite see that in a room with soft grey walls, although in your photo your walls lean towards a beigy-grey to my eyes. An additional colour to add could be bright white, deeper shades of grey and salmon or coral or adding another altogether of a soft aqua - perhaps in a painting on the wall? For me, soft colours in a bedroom are conducive to better sleep -but it's personal choice. A light blue with lavender overtones might also work, or lemon yellow - maybe a combo of both of those? Definitely agree with Kelli - first find a bedspread or comforter w/bedskirt in your colour choice or if you prefer a solid colour there, use a rug, wall painting or throw pillows to bring in your colours, but it won't have the same impact as a gorgeously made up bed. If you wait until there are sales you might get a really good quality set for half price - and it should last for years or until you tire of it. ;)

Shades of blues or peaches would have be nice and soothing, yet add color. For something a little more dramatic reds with touches of black. Most colors will go with grey.
Buy your curtains, and bedspread first. Choose a color in that which you would like to paint your dresser. I would lean towards blues and greens.
Silver and put contrasting color large tray on top or even mirror tray put the color in with your linens only so everything else is neutral and color scheme easily changed.
