Put mirrors in them. Cut glass to fix and reuse them. To use outdoors, attach a layer of chicken wire to the back, add moss and succulents!
Stev...I have painted a frame; wood, plastic, metal, etc. You can also add little jewels, shells, roping. etc. to customize. For instance, a matchbox car on corner with hot glue of a child that loves playing with them. Lots of ideas for fixing frames to your liking. Sometimes I have found a picture of the beach and use some shells just to dress up. It's easy just have fun doing it. Good luck
