Lucy....We purchased the metal edging that is flexible and metal pins slide in sloths and you hammer in the ground.
I love the idea of using concrete blocks. They are inexpensive and you can plant in them too! Here are 17 cool ideas https://www.pinterest.com/pin/ARV5jONHp8pBuNr69VmkAzTYD-QTxvTIAdZVjn2esXz15sWvI3zh8nM/
Hi Lucy,
We have the same thing! Over the years, I've tried many things. I didn't want to put in bricks because I don't like the look, but they may work for you. You can put them horizontal on the ground in either direction depending on how wide you want the border to be. You can tip them up vertically or do them at an angle. Some people like to edge a garden with rocks. Get all the weeds out of a strip around the garden, add landscaping fabric then cover with rocks. There are also a lot of various garden edgings that you can purchase. A lot of it depends on your budget and what YOU like. A few years ago we bought about 10 boxes of white faux brick edging. I cleaned everything out near the edge of the garden, installed the edging and also clean/dug a "path" on the outside of the bricks. That I am filling with landscape fabric and mulch to give room for the lawnmower so we won't need to use an edger. Take a ride around a few neighborhoods nearby (or not LOL) and look to see what others are using. Something you see might inspire you and help you get the look that you want. Wishing you the best.
Morning Lucy, I looked around my development to see what others used. Black soft edging worked for me. My flower beds undulate so I didn't want anything that could not bend and this edging works perfectly. My string trimmer does not cut into it and it prevents grass from growing into the bed. At Home Depot, it comes in 20ft lengths and you can check the price online. I've had it down for three years and there's no sign of damage. Hope this helps!
