How do non-professionally painted kitchen cabinets hold up?
We are moving and the new kitchen needs a face lift. I am contemplating painting the cabinets but do not want it to look cheap or "home done". And I want it to hold up well. I don't have any experience painting cabinetry or furniture. Just looking for advice. I will likely redo the island to be all one level (my preference) and a larger rectangle as the room is big enough. Will also put in quartz or granite counter tops. Would likely go white or creamy white. (Also the window wall is a blue gray and will be painted).

you can absolutely do this yourself!!! if you want a factory finish buy a sprayer. but a foam roller will also give great results. use a Poly-acrylic top coat and you 'll have a really nice velvety finish that will be easily cleaned. I did a post about a set of cabinets I did for someone and how I set up a spray booth. but spraying is def not necessary. I did my current kitchen with a roller and love the finish.
