Home depot and lowes have a nice selection or short decorative fencing. My dogs are good with it.
I agree with the fencing Kelli mentions. I got one from Menards that looks like a fine metal fencing and you just push it into the ground. I have trouble in the winter and early spring with the mailman and paperboy just stepping off the side of the porch and walking across my hosta garden before the plants can be seen or are just beginning to peak out of the soil and it cause some problems, this fencing is put up in the fall as they die off and taken out once the Hostas have become noticeable enough to not walk on them. They can be bought in sections of different deigns to choose from and most even have gates that you can get, too.
I agree, the easiest way is to purchase some short fencing from your local home improvement store.
