The corner of what?
Apply with a caulking gun and smooth with your finger. Keep a rag and bucket of water for clean up.
You can also buy caulk in containers that you can squeeze out instead of a caulking gun if you aren't confident using one. Clean the surface, remove any old caulk, and then apply. I smooth caulk with my finger. I keep a damp rag or sponge to wipe off any mistakes.
If you're having trouble caulking the corner, because you get one side good, but then when you go to do the other side, it messes up the first side... Do like they do when mudding and taping sheetrock. Just do one side, get it good and let it dry. Then go back and do the other side. :) Here is another caulking tip I wrote about... how to caulk with beadboard!
