Fence building is an endeavor. Hardest part is digging the holes for the fence posts. I highly recommend getting help with that or hiring out. If this fence will enclose a yard, and there are neighboring properties, you will need to get the county surveyor out to mark property lines for you. Here are some sites to help you out.

I haven’t tried this yet, but this summer I’m hoping to make a fence to enclose part of my yard for my puppy. I have some regular metal garden t posts and plan to attach wood picket fence panels to them with wood screws. Home Depot and Lowe’s also sell what’s called “no dig” fences that you can self install.
