Before I built my 500 sf deck, I bought the book Complete Decks by Stanley (the tool manufacturer) at Home Depot for $20. Great info in an easy to understand format and lots of pictures. I used a composite material (Trex) and stainless steel deck screws so as to avoid having to re-stain every couple of years and contend with rusted fasteners as my deck was installed on the Oregon Coast (heavy salt atmosphere). For the best results, be sure to select your pressure treated framing lumber (joists, posts, etc) with an eye to them being straight without twists or bowing. Have a fun project - I did.
If you go to the search bar at the top left and type in “floating patio” several will pop up.
