You should probably ask this on the post or website rather than the general forum. However, in general you can use a 6 panel door. The biggest advice I would offer when attaching a headboard is to make it secure. We no longer use free standing headboards that don't have side rails and a footboard. We attach to the wall to prevent "wobbling".
