Jose, level the ground, using a level bar to keep it level the full length and width. This takes a lot of checking and probably some shoveling of dirt or lawn. If there is any lawn, remove it. I would put down weed prevention paper now, to prevent plants growing between the blocks, unless you want the grass to fill in the spaces. Then put down sand or even pea sized gravels, again level it the entire way, then lay down some pavers and space them but put the level on two or more at a time and keep them level. The said will make it possible to keep the blocks level. Hope this helps. It is tedious work, but so worth it!

I would compact the gravel, a lot. If there’s a chance of rain making the base move, then I’d put stakes or edging in along the edge.

Hi Jose,
A couple of things to consider. First, make sure your base and pavers are pitched away from your garage, a 1/4 inch per foot. if you walkway is 3' wide, then the garage side should be 3/4 higher than the lawn side. That may mean raising the height of the existing grade. You do not want the low side lower than the level of the grass or you will have water pooling on the walk. Excavate 4' away from the garage and give yourself some room to work. You can add a border and back fill with loam, seed, flowers, whatever, when you are done. Also be careful of splash back. Is there a roof overhanging part of the walk or a gutter? Water running off the roof can splash up from the pavers and eventually rot siding.
