If it's plain glass, you can use it in the candle holder, but I think a glass cleaner or vinegar would clean the glass better - it that's what you are trying to do.
warm water, dish soap, and a little vinegar is great for this if it is glass
I agree with the others: warm soapy dishwater or a solution of vinegar and water. If it's metal use the warm soapy water and dry right away with a clean cloth. Vinegar and water for glass.
I wouldn't use in the burner, dilute in a spray bottle and spritz the air if you enjoy the scent and want it in the room.
