Cheap way to clean a pool that has turned green.

    Bleach to remove algae and keep the pump running because sunlight + still water = algae creation.

    There are different reasons it could have turned green, so I would recommend taking a water sample to a pool shop. They will analyze it for free and probably recommend things to buy. You can just get the analysis for free and go from there.

  • The first thing you may need is a couple of jugs of 'shock'. Run the filter and then test your water.

  • Go to your pool store with a photo and they will tell you what to do. And considering hiring a service to maintain if you are unclear or unsure of how to handle. Chances are you need a few jugs of shock treatment. Pools should be tested at least daily for optimum results. I tested twice when I had a pool.
