There are different reasons it could have turned green, so I would recommend taking a water sample to a pool shop. They will analyze it for free and probably recommend things to buy. You can just get the analysis for free and go from there.
The first thing you may need is a couple of jugs of 'shock'. Run the filter and then test your water.
Go to your pool store with a photo and they will tell you what to do. And considering hiring a service to maintain if you are unclear or unsure of how to handle. Chances are you need a few jugs of shock treatment. Pools should be tested at least daily for optimum results. I tested twice when I had a pool.
